Good food was my gateway into farming. Truthfully, all I wanted was a really good beefsteak tomato with basil on crusty sourdough bread! Some years later I found myself farming, so be careful with your obsessions.
If you are buying my produce, there's a solid chance that you too enjoy good food. But, if you are like me, you might also be feeling a little at a loss for recipe ideas once you get back to your kitchen. If so, this page is for you!
This is a compilation of my go-to tips and tricks for how to use all that bounty you bring home. It starts with cleaning and storage suggestions to make sure you get the most out of that produce. Recipes are organized by category of the plant you're using; roots, leaves, and fruits.
Many recipe websites outline exacting specifications for what needs to go into a good dish. Nature, however, doesn't work by our plans and making the most of Her bounty requires some flexibility. Towards that end, I keep these recipe ideas as simple as possible and offer suggestions where you can make substitutions depending on what is in-season and/or in in your cupboard.
Bon Appétit!
Everything here is something I make personally from my produce, so I will add recipes here as I explore new ideas. If you have ideas for recipes that you think I should add here or modifications you tried that you would like to share, I'd love to add them to the site!
Please send me an email with your recipe/modification, a picture, and a name/nickname you'd prefer I use when crediting you on the site.
